As a leading provider of ground investigation, specialist drilling, UXO survey. geo-environmental and Materials testing services, we recognise the important role we play in protecting the environment, supporting our people and operating with integrity. Through our One Igne approach, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, delivering meaningful social value and maintaining strong governance across everything we do.

In 2025, we strengthened our ESG journey through the completion of our first Double Materiality Assessment, PAS 2080 accreditation, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approval, and continued alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Our 2025 ESG Report

Our third Annual ESG Report provides a transparent, data-driven overview of our environmental, social and governance performance for the year ending 31 December 2025.

The report highlights the progress we have made in improving carbon efficiency, enhancing workforce wellbeing, strengthening governance and embedding sustainability throughout our operations. It also outlines our key priorities as we continue our journey towards Net Zero and responsible business growth.

Key milestones from 2025 include:

  • Completion of Igne's first Double Materiality Assessment (DMA)
  • PAS 2080 Carbon Management in Infrastructure accreditation
  • Approval of our Science Based Targets (SBTi)
  • 15% reduction in carbon intensity per £m turnover
  • 64% increase in EV and hybrid company vehicles
  • Workforce growth to 331 employees
  • 16% reduction in employee turnover
  • 43% reduction in sickness absence
  • Zero fatalities and zero reportable over-seven-day injuries

Environmental

We recognise that climate change presents significant challenges for society and our industry. Our focus is on reducing emissions, improving efficiency and embedding carbon management throughout our operations and supply chain.

Social

Our people remain at the heart of our success. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive. We continue to align our social value commitments with the UK Government Social Value Model and selected UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on skills development, community impact, wellbeing and inclusive employment opportunities.

Governance

Strong governance is fundamental to delivering sustainable business performance. Our ESG governance structure provides clear accountability from the Board through to operational delivery teams, ensuring ESG considerations are embedded into decision-making across the organisation.

In 2025, we:

  • Completed our first Double Materiality Assessment to identify our most significant ESG impacts, risks and opportunities
  • Retained ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification across the Group
  • Strengthened ESG governance and reporting processes
  • Maintained robust cyber security and GDPR training programmes
  • Continued development towards group-wide Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 accreditation objectives
  • Reviewed and strengthened policies supporting responsible business conduct, ethics and compliance

  • Progressing Scope 3 emissions reporting
  • Further reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
  • Expanding renewable energy coverage across all premises
  • Continuing fleet and plant decarbonisation
  • Strengthening sustainable procurement and supply chain engagement
  • Increasing diversity across leadership roles
  • Maintaining our focus on employee wellbeing and safety
  • Achieving group-wide cyber security improvements, including ISO 27001 ambitions
  • Enhancing waste and circular economy reporting to support informed decision-making
